A guide to 3 cafes in Toronto’s iconic Kensington Market.
There’s just something about Kensington Market that keeps me coming back. Maybe it’s the vintage shops, local boutiques, or the vibrant paintings around every corner. No matter how many times I visit, I always find myself wandering a little longer than planned.
Over the years, I’ve visited a few cafes in the area that have stood out for their atmosphere, drinks, and overall experience. Each one offers something a little different, making Kensington Market a great destination for anyone who enjoys exploring local coffee spots.
If you’re planning a visit, here are three cafes I think are worth checking out.
1. FIKA Cafe
FIKA Cafe is one of those places that instantly makes you want to slow down. It feels peaceful from the moment you arrive. Whether you’re stopping in for a coffee or taking a break from exploring the area, it’s an easy place to settle into.
The Front Patio
The front patio is surrounded by greenery, creating a relaxed setting that’s perfect for enjoying your coffee on a sunny afternoon.
Stepping inside, the atmosphere is bright and effortlessly cozy. It’s the kind of cafe where you can comfortably settle in with a drink, chat for some time, or simply take a break from exploring Kensington Market.
One thing I loved about FIKA is their small retail selection. From coffee beans and mugs to tote bags, clothing, and other finds. It’s a nice touch if you enjoy bringing home a little reminder of the places you visit.
No matter where you choose to sit, the relaxed atmosphere that makes it easy to lose track of time.
On the Menu + What I Ordered
The pastry display is just as tempting as the drink menu, with baked treats greeting you as you walk in. I decided to order the mocha latte, which was smooth, rich, and perfectly balanced. It was exactly the kind of comforting drink I was hoping for.
Self-Serve Station
Whether you’re taking your coffee to go or staying awhile, you can easily grab a lid before heading out or finding a spot to settle in.
The Back Patio
Even the back patio feels like a hidden little escape from the busier parts of Kensington Market.

2. Little Pebbles
Little Pebbles is a cozy cafe with a Japanese-inspired bakery. The beautiful floral details and soft lighting create a welcoming atmosphere that’s both charming and inviting.
One of the first things you’ll notice is the pastry display. Fresh-baked treats line the counter, making it almost impossible to leave without choosing something sweet.
Along with the pastry selection, you’ll find plenty of specialty drinks, coffee, and seasonal faves on the menu.
What I Ordered
I couldn’t leave without trying the Banana Pudding Matcha Latte. It was creamy, lightly sweet, and such a fun twist on a classic matcha. If you enjoy trying unique seasonal drinks, this one is worth ordering.

3. Moonbean Coffee Company
Moonbean Coffee Company has a different vibe from the first two cafes. It’s the kind of place that encourages you to slow down and enjoy your time.
The interior is simple and welcoming, creating a comfortable space with its wooden furniture and warm tones.
Moonbean is divided into two seating areas: one at the front beside the counter and another quieter space at the back that leads to the patio.
Their Menu + What I Ordered
Their menu offers a variety of coffee, matcha, tea, juices, and smoothies. They also have pastry cases with muffins, brownies, cookies if you’re looking for a bite. I ordered a matcha latte during my visit.
The Back Patio
One of my fave parts of Moonbean is the back patio. It’s surrounded by vibrant, creative artworks. It’s the perfect place to enjoy your coffee on a nice day.
