Hey besties! 💕 Welcome back to Her Vibe Diary!
Today, I thought I’d share something a little more personal — what I actually eat in a day. I’m all about balance, comfort, and making everyday meals feel like little acts of self-care. Whether I’m rushing between errands or sitting down for a slow cafe moment, food is my favorite way to chill out and reconnect with myself.
Morning Vibes
Weekdays are usually a little rush for me. I’m always trying to get out the door on time, so breakfast tends to be light and quick. If I have time, I’ll toast some bread, spread a layer of cream cheese, and pile on some mashed avocado with tomato slices. A drizzle of balsamic on top makes it taste like something straight out of a cafe. Other days, it’s just a couple of hard-boiled eggs before heading out. It’s nothing fancy, but it gets me through.

But if I’m running late, I’ll grab a coffee from Tim Hortons or a matcha from Starbucks, depending on my mood. I swear, that first sip sets the tone for the whole day.

And on Fridays, I treat myself to a seasonal latte or one of those specialty drinks. It’s my little way of making the end of the week feel softer.
Midday Fuel
During the week, lunch is usually on the lighter side. Most days, I’ll grab a slice of pizza or sandwich. My intention is to keep lunch light so I can enjoy dinner later on. Sometimes, I end up having a heavier lunch (it happens 😉). When that happens, I just make sure to keep dinner lighter to balance it out.
I also make sure to stay hydrated throughout the day. I always keep my water bottle close. Sometimes I’ll treat myself to an iced coffee drink if I need a little mid-day pick-me-up.
Weekend Brunching: My Happy Place
On the weekends, I fully embrace the brunch life! It’s honestly my favorite meal of the week. I’ll skip breakfast entirely and go straight to a late-morning or early-afternoon brunch at one of my favorite cafes. There’s just something special about cozy spots and good food.
Here are a few of my go-to brunch picks:
- French Toast: Made with Shokupan (Japanese milk bread), drenched in salted caramel, seasonal fruit, vanilla whipped cream, maple syrup, and hazelnuts.
- Blueberry Lemon Pancakes: 3 pancakes topped with lemon curd and a lemon blueberry compote.
- The Hearty Plate: Fried eggs, seasoned home fries, chicken sausages, and a toasted cinnamon-raisin bagel.
- Lox Bagel: Smoked salmon, cream cheese, a little kick of sriracha aioli, capers, pickled red onions, scallions, and all that everything bagel spice goodness.

Each cafe visit feels like a little reset for me. It’s not just about the food. It’s the feeling that comes with slowing down and treating yourself to something nice.
Evening Comfort
After a long day, I love winding down in the evening with something that feels homey and comforting. Cooking lowkey feels like a quiet therapy session for me.
Some of my favorites are pan-seared salmon with rice and veggies or chicken salad with slices of avocado. Other evenings, I just do pasta and veggies. I don’t follow recipes too strictly, I just go with the flow and taste as I go. Sometimes I’ll even recreate dishes I’ve seen on Instagram or Pinterest. Most of the time, they actually turn out pretty good.

If it’s a self-care night, I’ll pour a glass of wine. I’ll light a candle too. This makes the whole dinner experience feel more special.
A Little Sweet Moment (Sometimes)
I don’t usually crave dessert every day, but once in a while I’ll treat myself to something sweet. My top picks are a slice of apple pie or a mini cheesecake from Longo’s. I don’t have dessert every day. When I do have it, dessert feels like the perfect little reward after a busy week.
Food is more than just fuel for me; it’s part of my lifestyle. It influences my mood. Every meal is a small moment to pause, feel grateful, and enjoy the little things.
Your Turn
Share in the comments one daily meal or item that is essential in your routine. For me, it’s that first sip of coffee each morning. It just hits differently and sets the whole vibe for my day.
